What Do Acoustic Panels Do?
Acoustic panels serve as broadband absorbers, reducing the energy of sound waves as they reflect off hard, structural surfaces like walls and ceilings. This reflection of sound causes unwanted echoes, reverb, and other audible effects, such as comb filtering, where specific frequencies sound louder or softer than they should. In recording studios, home cinemas, and conference rooms, managing these reflections is key to achieving a cleaner and more satisfying listening experience.
In environments like living rooms, open spaces, and auditoriums, acoustic wall panels can significantly affect how sound behaves. Not only do they help create a better listening experience, but they also enhance your space's décor, blending seamlessly with other design elements.

Any room. Any Need.
Acoustic panels play a crucial role in enhancing sound quality in any room. Whether you’re improving acoustics in a home theater, optimizing clarity and intelligibility in a conference room, or perfecting your recording studio setup, GIK Acoustics provides a wide range of high-end sound-absorbing panels designed to suit your needs.
Our acoustic treatment products are crafted not only to control noise and reduce echoes but also to suit the overall aesthetic of your space with beautifully designed, fabric-wrapped and wood slat panels in a wide variety of color and finish options.
Why Acoustic Panels Matter in Different Spaces
Acoustic needs vary by space type, and GIK Acoustics offers a wide range of solutions to meet those needs. Here’s how our products can improve the sound in different environments:

Recording Studios
Achieving crystal-clear sound in music studios requires precise sound control. All studios benefit from a good bass-trapping strategy, which uses thicker bass traps to address low-frequency issues. These broadband panels also handle mid- to high-frequency sounds, helping eliminate unwanted reverb and reflections. This way, we ensure that monitoring remains clean and balanced at all times. Proper use of diffusers can also maintain a natural ambience in the room without overly dampening the sound. In spaces designed for music production, high-quality acoustic treatment is essential for professionals aiming to produce the best recordings as efficiently as possible, without fighting their room at every step.

Hi-Fi Listening Rooms
For audiophiles, the listening experience is everything, and the listening environment is a big part of it. In hi-fi listening rooms, it’s essential to accurately reproduce the subtle nuances of the music without fundamentally altering the recording's sound. Using bass traps for low frequencies and diffusers or sound-absorbing panels for higher frequencies can create the perfect listening environment with balance, clarity, and impact, without making the room too dead. A good treatment strategy ensures that no details are lost, allowing you to fully appreciate the depth and richness of high-quality sound systems and maximise your listening experience.

Home Cinemas
For an immersive experience in your home cinema, acoustic control is just as important as the visual elements. Acoustic treatments can sometimes help contain sound within the room, but they always reduce reflections and enhance clarity, dialogue intelligibility, and bass impact and accuracy, making movie-watching more enjoyable. Proper placement of acoustic panels and bass traps ensures that sound remains rich and immersive, with no distracting echoes or dead spots. With a well-designed acoustic treatment strategy, you can create a theater experience that rivals or exceeds that of professional cinemas.

Conference Rooms
Voice clarity and intelligibility in a meeting or conference room are crucial for effective communication, focus, and productivity. Acoustic panels improve all of these during meetings, especially in rooms with hard surfaces that reflect sound more. Attendees don’t have to work so hard just to understand what is being said, reducing fatigue and boosting focus. With our custom-printed Art Panels, you can also add an individual touch in the form of an artwork or company logo to your meeting space while ensuring that sound clarity is top-notch.

Houses of Worship
In houses of worship, large open spaces and reflective surfaces can lead to excessive reverberation, making it difficult for congregations to hear sermons, music, and prayers clearly. Acoustic panels help manage sound reflections, ensuring voices and instruments carry naturally without harsh echoes. By reducing unwanted sound reflections, GIK Acoustics solutions create a more welcoming, comfortable environment for worship, supporting better connection and clarity in services and gatherings.

Open Spaces
Large, open-concept spaces and rooms with hard surfaces are notorious for poor acoustics. Without proper acoustic treatment, the sound is too reverberant, making it difficult to have clear conversations or enjoy music. Acoustic panels, baffles, and diffusers can significantly improve the sound aesthetic in spaces like living rooms, auditoriums, open-plan offices, or houses of worship, making them less fatiguing places to spend time. No matter what you are doing inside the room–watching TV, hosting an event, or simply trying to reduce noise in a busy workspace–GIK Acoustics panels make all these activities much more pleasant.
FAQs
What Are Acoustic Panels Made Of?
Our acoustic panels are crafted from the highest-quality absorbent materials, internal wooden frames, and a wide selection of beautiful acoustic fabrics, ensuring superior performance and aesthetic appeal. No need to go through the hassle of finding a good design and build for a DIY project; GIK products arrive ready to hang.
How Many Acoustic Panels Do I Need?
The number of panels you’ll need depends on the size and layout of your room, as well as the level of sound control required. For example, a home studio may need a combination of bass traps and acoustic wall panels, while a conference room might require fewer panels but more focus on speech clarity. Our team offers Free Acoustic Advice to help you determine the ideal solution for your space.
What’s the Difference Between Soundproofing and Acoustic Treatment?
While there has historically been some fluidity between these terms, soundproofing generally refers to blocking sound from entering or leaving a room. At the same time, acoustic treatment focuses on improving sound within the space. There is no such thing as a soundproofing panel, as preventing noise from escaping or intruding usually requires construction work. While acoustic panels can sometimes muffle sound to some degree under some conditions, their intended function is to improve sound quality inside the room.
How Are Acoustic Panels Installed?
Our broadband acoustic panels are designed for easy installation. We even offer many freestanding production options if you’d rather avoid installation altogether, which is common in rental spaces. Even when we do install the panels, the basic idea is it’s like hanging a picture frame. Products like our FlexRange Bass Trap Panels and FlexRange Acoustic Panels include eye hooks and picture wire for simple hanging, while most other products include sawtooth hangers. You can easily install them yourself without professional assistance, though we are always here to guide if needed.
Can Acoustic Panels Be Customised?
Yes, we offer custom sizes and shapes, including hexagon designs, for many of our products to match your room’s specific needs. We also provide a wide range of acoustic art panels that blend form and function, allowing you to integrate acoustic treatment into your room’s décor without compromising on aesthetics. We can also sometimes advise on custom design projects for on-site builds. Contact our design team if you are interested in any sort of custom work.
