We recommend French cleats as mounting hardware to secure your GIK Acoustics Tri-Trap to the wall if you wish to elevate it off the floor. This accessory to the Tri-Trap comes with two sets of French cleats – for the top and the bottom of the Tri-Trap
The wall side of a french cleat can be mounted securely without having to hold the full weight of the Tri-Trap while securing it. The cleat will not be seen later, so it does not matter where it is drilled; this means that it can be screwed into wall studs relatively independent of the lateral position of the Tri-Trap.
Once the cleats are secured to the wall, the Tri-Trap can be lifted on to them for perfect positioning.
